Are you living in a Burglary Hotspot?

Statistically people living in the City of London are the most likely to be the victim of burglary, with Burnley and Manchester coming a close second and third place respectfully.

However these statistics are not meant to frighten people as statistically you are less likely to be burgled than 8 years ago; as since 2002/03 there has been a dramatic national decrease of around 35% of the number of crimes of this kind.

The only area in the UK where the number of crime has increased in the last 7 years is Burnley in the North West, moving to second place in the top three most burglary prone places.

On the other side of the spectrum you are least likely to be burgled in Ceredigion in Wales, which came top of the least amount of burglaries per 1,000 population 2002/03 compared with 2008/09. A very close second was the isle of Scilly recording only 6 burglaries in total for 2008/09!
