If you are planning to fit the product into the reveal (recess, architrave) of the window – you need to measure the width and height 3 times at different intervals. A good rule of thumb is to measure ‘top, middle & bottom’ and ‘left, centre & right’.
Once you have collated the three measurements, you need to take the smallest measurement – we would then deduct an additional 5mm or 10mm off to allow for tolerance.
Crimeshield, Window Bars and Retractable Security Grilles can be classed as a DIY product – they will be supplied with standard fitting instructions but you will need to purchase your own fixings (which are listed in the ‘What Fixings Should I use?)
Products like Roller Shutters, Hammerglass, Steel Doors and Bar Gates would need to be installed by one of our experienced installers.

- Masonry – M6 x 50ml raw plug and screws
- Timber – M6 x 40ml timber screws
- Fixed Window Bars;

- Masonry – M10 x 80ml Frame fixings – we would also recommend anti-tamper heads or if not possible to spoil the screw heads once installation is complete.
- For unusual surfaces like tiles you will need to determine a suitable fixing method for your substrate.
- Window Shield/ Crime Shield/ Vandal Shield;
- uPVC – Self-Drill Drywall Screws 3.5 x 35.

All of our window security products are made to measure, therefore, we would need to assess what stage the product is at before we can determine whether are not a refund can be issued. We will not accept a cancellation of an order once work on your order has commenced.
All orders of window security products are made to measure and lead times vary according to delivery address, size and quantities ordered. On average, orders will be delivered between 5-15 working days from date of order.
Orders of Hammerglass take slightly longer at 15-20 working days from date of order.

All orders of window security products are made to measure and as such, returns cannot be made once an order has been placed, unless due to damage in transit.
